BRICK -- The end of the high school football season at Brick usually means the beginning of one thing: the start of speculation concerning the return of legendary head coach Warren Wolf.

Moments after his Dragons (8-3) ran over rival Brick Memorial (1-9) for a season-concluding 34-7 victory, Wolf gave a quick answer to that question. "Yes, I will be back, God willing," said the all-time Shore Conference wins leader. "That's my intent."

It was clear that the Dragons, who now lead the holiday series 16-2-1, intended to run the football and they executed that perfectly. Playing without running backs James Rivera and Tim Price, who sat most of the game for what Wolf called "personal reasons," the Dragons racked up 357 yards on the ground to offset the passing game of Mustangs' junior quarterback Brian Boland (16-27 for 164 yards, three interceptions). Seniors Brian Daskolovitz (18 carries for 157 yards and a touchdown) and Gary Bell (14 carries, 104 yards and four touchdowns) led the way.

"The second half we came out on fire," said Bell. "It was all the offensive line. They work their butts off and they don't take a play off."

After a sluggish first half where Brick led only 14-7, Bell plunged in from the one-yard line after a Brick Memorial fumble to give the Dragons a 21-7 lead entering the fourth quarter.

Bell, who had a 70-yard touchdown run negated because of a penalty, finalized a 12-play, 90 yard drive when he scored from nine yards out to give the Dragons a 27-7 lead in the final stanza.
